Abstract

The arising awareness of business ethics associated with formation of contract has become a key concern of organizational behavior in ethical aspects. In this paper, the current situation of what business ethics is defined by various scholars, why it’s a significant concern in nowadays’ rapid-changing environment, and how corporate is doing business in an ethical sense governing contracts are explored. A business case from the world’s leading bank – HSBC is explored with the philosophy of how the business ethics, as well as corporate social responsibility, governance, and sustainability are incorporated in strategic objectives of driving a long-term growth. After all, the implications of how these objectives would influence the business contract, are elaborated, and leaving some open points of whether business ethics is applicable with respect to corporate scale or adequate government support.
